TariffShark TFMS Loader Utility
You must be running TariffShark Release 2.0, 2.1, 2.1.1, 2.2, 3.0, 3.1, 3.1.1, or 3.2 in order to run the TariffShark TFMS Loader utility.
Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 is required in order to run the TariffShark TFMS Loader utility.
The TariffShark TFMS Loader utility is distributed in a ZIP file archive. The application does not need to be installed onto your Windows desktop computer, so there is no installer or setup to run. Instead, simply unzip all of the files into a folder of your choosing.
In order to run the program (after the files have been extracted from the ZIP archive), double-click the file named TariffSharkTFMSLoader.exe.
The primary input to the TariffShark TFMS Loader utility is a Microsoft Access MDB file. The file(s) that you will run through the utility you will have received from Links Technology (learn more). Each time you run the TariffShark TFMS Loader utility, it loads a single Tariff. If the MDB file contains multiple tariff volumes that you wish to load, they must be loaded separately...one at a time.
-
Start the TariffShark TFMS Loader utility by double-clicking the file named TariffSharkTFMSLoader.exe.
-
Start filling out the form by selecting an Access database that contains your TFMS data. You will have received the Access MDB file from Links Technology. If the database is password-protected, enter the password and click the "Load MDB" button.

The TariffShark TFMS Loader utility will open the Access database and populate the list of "Source TFMS Volumes".
-
Select the "Source TFMS Volume" you would like to load. If there are multiple volumes to load, you will need to load them one at a time.

Once you have selected the Source TFMS Volume you wish to load, the "TariffShark Database" section of the form will be enabled.
-
Fill in the settings necessary to connect to the SQL Server on which the target TariffShark database resides.
-
Server Name: type the name or IP address of the server optionally including instance name and port number
-
Select whether Windows authentication or SQL Server authentication will be used to connect to the SQL server
-
Username: If using SQL Server authentication, type the username.
-
Password: If using SQL Server authentication, type the password.
-
Database Name: type the name of the TariffShark SQL Server database.
-
Click the "Connect to database" button.

-
-
Select the "Company" and the "Destination Tariff Database" to which the "Source TFMS Volume" will be loaded as a TariffShark-style Tariff.
When selecting the "Destination Tariff Database", one of the options provided is "New Tariff Database...". When choosing this option, the "Create Tariff Database" dialog appears (shown below). A good Tariff Database Name might be "TFMS Tariffs" or "Historical Tariffs" or something similar.

-
Click the "Convert Volume to TariffShark Tariff" button.

-
It will take some time to convert the tariff which depends on the amount of information being loaded.

-
When done, a message indicating the successful conversion of the tariff will be displayed.

- If there are more tariff volumes in the Access database that need to be loaded into TariffShark or if there are additional Access databases that need to be loaded, return to step 2 above and repeat.
