TFMS Conversion

In conjunction with TariffShark Release 2.0, Links Technology is pleased to announce details of the TFMS Data Conversion service. For our customers who previously used TFMS to file and manage their FERC Gas Tariffs, we are offering a service to convert and load their historical TFMS tariff data into TariffShark. We provide this service at no cost.

How do I get started?

To schedule the conversion of your TFMS data into TariffShark, contact Gary Kravis.

Loading historical tariff data from TFMS into TariffShark is a multistep process. The steps are enumerated below and discussed in greater detail further down.

  1. Prepare Data
  2. Share Data
  3. Convert Data
  4. Load Data

Prepare Data

[Customers are responsible for this step.]

Your historical TFMS data will be READ ONLY in TariffShark. Therefore, you must be sure that you have finished all of your work on the data before putting the data in TariffShark.

  • Have all Filing statuses and Sheet statuses been accurately recorded?
  • Have all Filing docket numbers and order dates been recorded?
  • Are there any Draft Filings and Sheets that were never submitted to FERC? Perhaps these should be deleted prior to conversion.

Share Data

[Customers are responsible for this step.]

Send your TFMS database(s) to us. A website has been established that allows you to upload large files. Gary Kravis will provide the details.

Convert Data

[Links Technology is responsible for this step.]

In order for your historical TFMS data to be available in TariffShark, it must first be converted into a TariffShark-friendly format. For example, tariff sheets represented in TFMS as Word documents must be converted to PDFs. We will run the software that performs this conversion.

Load Data

[Enterprise customers are responsible for this step. For hosted customers, Links Technology is repsonsible for this step.]

In this step, the converted data is loaded into TariffShark.

NOTE: You must be running TariffShark Release 2.0, 2.1, 2.1.1, 3.0, 3.1, or 3.1.1 in order to do this step.

For our Enterprise customers (those that aren't hosted on the Links Technology data center), we will provide (a) the converted data from the prior step and (b) a utility program that loads the TFMS data into the TariffShark database. Instructions for running the utility program are available here.
